Sussex Spaniels are a breed of Gundogs that originated in Rosehill, Sussex in Southern England around 1795 by a man named Mr. Fuller of Rosehill for the use as Hunting Dogs. Later on, more Clumber Spaniel blood was added to this breed. Sussex Spaniels were accepted as a dog breed by the American Kennel Club in 1884. Today, Sussex Spaniels are considerably uncommon canines that are rarely seen out of the Show Ring. Still Sussex Spaniels usually reside in areas of Southern England and are practically unheard of throughout the United States. Despite the fact that the Sussex Spaniels are less well known than other Gundog breeds like the English Cocker Spaniel and the American Cocker Spaniel, Sussexs are also wonderful canine companions with much to offer.
